Australia Stalls on Emission Trading Scheme

Australia has shelved plans to introduce a self-imposed emissions trading scheme on the country until 2013.

Due to a booming mining industry, fed by demand from China, Australia is one of the highest polluting countries in the world when measuring per capita, and would be one of the industries under most scrutiny in any imposed scheme.
