With increased emphasis on renewable energy as a means of diversifying from foreign (and dwindling) oil supplies, wind and solar power have regularly taken front stage in proposals and projects aimed at harnessing cleaner energy.

Marine energy is not spoken of so much, yet has proven to be another alternative in energy generation.

In Scotland, over a Gigawatt of energy is anticipated to be generated by projects off the coast of Scotland, aiming to take advantage of the kinetic energy of the waves.

Allianz contains a more detailed description of the project at hand, which may prove to be an exciting avenue in clean energy generation, and the birth of a new industry.
